PETIME dog playpen, covers and raised beds
A dog playpen gives a puppy its own patch of floor and gives you a few hands-free minutes. PETIME makes the folding metal pen, the heavy-duty octagon pen, the floor pad and mesh roof that turn either into a den, and the raised cot where the dog rests afterwards.

Which height for your dog?
Measure from the floor to the top of the shoulders. A pen should stand at least 10 inches taller than that, and higher for a dog that likes to jump.
Read the sizing note| Shoulder height | Pen | Typical dogs |
|---|---|---|
| Under 14" at the shoulder | 24" pen | Puppies, toy breeds, rabbits, guinea pigs |
| 14"–20" at the shoulder | 30" or 32" pen | Corgis, beagles, cocker spaniels |
| 20"–26" at the shoulder | 36" or 40" pen | Labs in training, bigger jumpers |
Floor, roof, or both
Floor pad
Coated 600D Oxford under the whole pen keeps spills, accidents and light rain off the floor and soft under paws.
Mesh roof
Half mesh, half Oxford: shade in the yard, and the end of climbing and jumping out.
Floor + roof
A closed den for a puppy left alone for a while, or a dog who treats a fence as a challenge.
The panels stay hinged together, so the same pen becomes an octagon, a square, a rectangle along a wall, an irregular corner or a straight fence across a doorway.
The raised bed keeps the dog 7 inches off hot patios, cold tile and damp grass. Air moves through the mesh; the bolster gives the head somewhere to land.
Owners on their PETIME pens
“I think the exercise pen is great. Great size for that new puppy. Plenty of room for puppy and toys. Great for you too if you need a short break to do something. The only negative would be the flooring. No issue with the fabric itself only the seam placement which runs right down the middle of the floor in the pen. If you have a rambunctious little pup they will find it and it will become one of their favorite chew toys. But other than that the pen is great. Easy setup and for $54 it's definitely worth it.”★★★★★★★★★★

“Its great for what I needed but the top attaches with elastic that will definitely wear out before long. Its not a tight attachment & sags in the middle. It should cone in a travel bag to take on vacation etc.”★★★★★★★★★★

“I work in animal rescue and this pen has been amazing. The sturdy bottom keeps the puppies from chewing holes in it and the pen set up is easy. It is easy to transport from location to location I simple fold the bottom around the panels”★★★★★★★★★★

“Love the playpen for my puppy. We take it camping and put the bottom in to keep her clean and at home we use the top to keep the big birds and coyotes from getting her.”★★★★★★★★★★

Choosing a PETIME dog playpen
What a dog playpen is for
A playpen fences off a small area so a dog can move, play and nap without the run of the house. It is a puppy's first room, a safe place while you cook or work, an outdoor enclosure in the yard and a portable pen on trips. Unlike a crate, it leaves space to walk around, and a floor pad keeps the area clean.
Foldable or heavy-duty
The PETIME foldable pen is light: eight 24-inch-wide metal panels that fold flat, in 24, 30 or 36 inch heights. The heavy-duty octagon pen uses a thicker frame joined with steel bars, a door panel with a latch, and sizes up to 30 inches wide and 40 inches tall — for stronger dogs, outdoor use and longer stays.
Covers for the pen you already have
If your playpen has eight panels that are 24 inches wide, the PETIME floor pad and mesh roof fit it as an octagon, whichever brand made the panels. The pad is coated Oxford with velcro at every side; the roof hangs from elastic bands with hooks.
Indoors and outdoors
Indoors, the floor pad protects wood, tile and carpet. Outdoors, the ground stakes hold the enclosure on grass, the rust-preventive finish handles the weather and the roof throws shade. Both fabrics clean by hand and dry in the air.
Metal, plastic or mesh
When you compare dog playpens, consider the material first. Plastic panels are light but a determined dog can push or chew them; soft mesh and tent models fold small for travel but are not secure for a chewer. A metal exercise pen like the PETIME models is the common choice for puppies and small pets that need to stay contained: it is collapsible, sets up easily, and keeps its shape when a little dog leans on it.
Dog playpens for large dogs
For medium and large dogs, size matters more than anything. Pick a model whose height is at least 10 inches above the shoulder — the heavy-duty PETIME playpen goes to 40 inches — and give the dog enough space to lie down, turn around and reach water. Explore the heavy-duty model if your dog is strong or likes to jump; the door panel gives a person easy access without lifting the dog over the top.
Keeping the bottom clean
A bottom pad under the playpen stops spills, food and puppy accidents from reaching the floor, and it gives paws a softer surface than tile or concrete. PETIME pads are coated 600D Oxford material that wipes clean; for outdoor use, the same pad keeps a pet off damp grass.
Playpen questions
Will the floor pad fit my playpen?
It fits any octagon made of eight panels that are 24 inches wide. Measure one panel before ordering.
Is the floor pad waterproof?
It is water-resistant: coated Oxford that stops spills and light rain. Wipe it dry — it is not a tray for standing water.
Can I set the pen up as a square?
Yes. The panels are hinged, so the pen stands as an octagon, square, rectangle or fence. Floor pads and roofs fit the octagon only.
How tall should the pen be?
At least 10 inches taller than your dog's shoulder height, and taller still for dogs that jump or climb.
Do I need tools?
No. The folding pen opens out by hand; the heavy-duty pen joins with steel bars; the bed assembles with the hex key included.
Are dog playpens a good idea?
For puppies and small dogs, yes: a pen keeps them safe and contained while you cannot watch them, gives them more space than a crate, and makes house training easier because the area stays small and easy to clean.
Can I leave my dog in a playpen all day?
A pen is for shorter stretches, not a full working day. Give the dog water, a bed and something to chew, and plan walks and play outside the pen; a puppy needs breaks far more often than an adult dog.
Room to play, room to rest.
